“Police Investigate Human Remains Found After Fire Incident”

Police have stated that there is no evidence of criminal activity following the discovery of human remains at a fire incident on the north side of Fredericton last week. A woman’s remains were found in a wooded area near Two Nations Crossing, and the Fredericton Police Force is currently investigating the matter, according to spokesperson Megan Barker. An autopsy has been conducted, and the process of confirming the individual’s identity is ongoing. While initial investigations do not suggest foul play, it has not been completely ruled out. The discovery of human remains was made after responding to a fire incident in the wooded area on Thursday evening. Upon arrival, emergency crews encountered a structure fully engulfed in flames, with the woman’s remains found inside after the fire was extinguished. CBC News reached out to the police for further details on the structure but has not yet received a response.
