Saskatchewan police officers made a significant discovery during a routine traffic stop on March 28. The officers found a pizza box in the vehicle, which concealed four slices of Hawaiian pizza along with a baggie containing 126 grams of a suspicious substance believed to be methamphetamine.
The vehicle was stopped by Battlefords RCMP as part of an ongoing investigation by Unity RCMP. Following the stop, the authorities arrested a 70-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman who were inside the car. Subsequently, the vehicle was towed to a police facility for further inspection, revealing the hidden pizza and drugs.
In response to the incident, the Saskatchewan RCMP took to social media, humorously stating, “Most of us can agree pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza. All of us can agree that methamphetamine never does.”
While the substance found in the pizza box awaits additional testing, both the 70-year-old individual from Wilkie and the 26-year-old from North Battleford have been charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to traffic. The suspects made an appearance in North Battleford Provincial Court just two days after the arrest, on March 30.
