His tenure officially commences on October 1st, coinciding with this year’s festival scheduled from September 10th to 20th.
Tory succeeds Jeffrey Remedios, who had held the position of chair since 2021. Remedios commended TIFF and its leadership, reflecting on his significant role in the festival’s evolution. Additionally, TIFF announced the addition of three new board members – Deborah Flint, David Furnish, and Daniel Tisch EchevarrÃa. Meanwhile, Asha Daniere, who has served on the board for nine years, is stepping down. TIFF expressed gratitude for Daniere’s dedicated service and contributions to the organization.
