Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain forecast for various parts of Quebec, spanning from western Quebec to the Chaudière-Appalaches region on Tuesday. The weather agency anticipates up to 10 millimetres of freezing rain falling in two separate periods during the day, with Montreal likely to receive around five millimetres later in the day. The agency noted that the impact may be limited as temperatures are expected to hover near freezing, but cautioned that icy roads and sidewalks could pose travel challenges.
In northern regions of Quebec such as Lanaudière and the Capitale-Nationale, precipitation is predicted to be in the form of snow and sleet. Conversely, the Eastern Townships are expected to experience milder temperatures and receive up to 25 millimetres of rain, potentially leading to elevated river levels according to the agency’s warning.
