A safety alert has been issued for Panasonic Flashxpress Toaster Ovens that were sold in the United States and Canada due to a potential risk of electric shock. The recall specifically pertains to Flashxpress toaster ovens bearing the model numbers NB-G205S and NB-G200SVA, which can be located on the product label at the back of the appliances. The concern lies with the power cord of these toaster ovens.
Panasonic stated in its voluntary recall notice that the insulation of the power cord may be inadequate as a protective fiberglass sleeve might not fully cover it, leading to a possible electric shock or fire hazard. In response, Panasonic, Health Canada, and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission have advised consumers to cease using the affected toaster ovens immediately and return them to Panasonic for a refund.

As of June 15, Health Canada has not received any injury reports related to the power cord issue within Canada. In the U.S., Panasonic has received five reports of circuit breakers tripping in connection with the affected toaster ovens, but no injuries have been reported.
