“Canadian Astronaut Jeremy Hansen Welcomed Home After Historic Moon Mission”

Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen and his fellow Artemis II crew members were warmly welcomed at the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) headquarters following their historic trip to the far side of the moon. Addressing an enthusiastic crowd in Longueuil, Quebec, Hansen expressed gratitude to those who played a crucial role in the mission’s success.

The 10-day mission, led by Hansen alongside commander Reid Wiseman and astronauts Victor Glover and Christina Koch, marked the farthest journey from Earth ever undertaken by humans. Koch highlighted the significance of their training experiences in Canada and how the CSA felt like a second home to them.

During a session with Industry Minister Mélanie Joly and the public, the crew, including Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jenni Gibbons from NASA’s Mission Control Center, fielded questions. Wiseman emphasized the diverse perspectives brought by the international makeup of the Artemis II crew, noting how it enhanced the mission and fostered global unity.

The crew’s arrival was met with cheers and admiration in Montreal, as captured in a video showing their camaraderie and praise for Jeremy Hansen’s expertise, humor, and invaluable contributions to the first lunar mission in five decades.
