A man has been taken into custody in connection with the deadly stabbing of a 27-year-old individual earlier this week, as per Toronto law enforcement. The incident took place around 9:34 p.m. on March 25 in the vicinity of Gamble Avenue and Donlands Avenue following reports of a disturbance behind a building, according to a statement released by Toronto police on Saturday. Upon their arrival, officers discovered a 27-year-old man who had been stabbed and was unresponsive. Regrettably, the man, identified as Ahmed Hassan Asif, was pronounced deceased, becoming Toronto’s fifth homicide victim of 2026. The alleged perpetrator had fled the scene before the arrival of law enforcement. Subsequently, a 21-year-old man was apprehended on Saturday and is now facing charges of second-degree murder and robbery. He is scheduled to make a court appearance on Sunday morning.
