“John Oliver Lands Role on ‘General Hospital'”

Emmy-winning comedian and late-night host John Oliver is set to fulfill his dream of appearing in a daytime soap opera. ABC’s “General Hospital” announced that Oliver will have a significant guest role in a three-episode arc starting this Thursday and continuing on July 3 and July 6.

Earlier this year, Oliver expressed his desire to be part of a soap opera during an episode of HBO’s “Last Week Tonight.” He humorously offered his acting services to soap operas, insisting on playing a character with a ridiculous name and engaging in dramatic storylines like murder or being someone’s long-lost relative.

Responding to Oliver’s plea, “General Hospital” welcomed him to Port Charles. While specific details of his role remain secret, ABC released a first-look image showing Oliver in a navy suit with a serious expression, flanked by two men in tactical gear.

The show’s executive producer, Frank Valentini, praised Oliver for his professionalism and humor on set, teasing fans about the character Oliver will interact with in Port Charles. Oliver expressed his excitement, stating that being a part of “General Hospital” was an honor.

Oliver’s appearance on the soap opera has generated anticipation and excitement among fans eagerly awaiting his debut on the small screen.
