“Kelly Pannek Leads Minnesota Frost to Playoff Berth”

Kelly Pannek’s standout performance with two goals and two assists led the Minnesota Frost to a narrow 6-5 victory over the Vancouver Goldeneyes, securing their spot in the post-season. Pannek, the PWHL’s leading scorer, now has 14 goals and 28 points, topping the league rankings with five games left in the regular season.

The Frost, who are the two-time defending champions, ended a three-game losing streak with Pannek scoring crucial power-play goals in the third period to secure the win. Sarah Nurse opened the scoring for Vancouver, but Pannek’s contributions, including setting up Grace Zumwinkle for a goal, helped Minnesota come from behind to claim the victory. With a career-high in assists this season, Pannek’s impact was crucial in the Frost’s success.

The game saw a flurry of goals, with both teams trading leads throughout. Despite Vancouver taking a two-goal lead in the second period, Minnesota fought back with goals from Mae Batherson and Taylor Heise to level the score at 4-4. Pannek’s heroics in the third period, including another power-play goal, ensured Minnesota’s victory, despite a late goal from Vancouver’s Izzy Daniel.

In goal, Nicole Hensley made 20 saves for the Frost, while Emerance Maschmeyer stopped 29 shots for the Goldeneyes. The win sets up Vancouver to face the Boston Fleet next, while Minnesota will take on the New York Sirens in their upcoming games.
