Among the affected items are Co-Op brand creamy garlic and spinach salad, available in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Northwest Territories, and Saskatchewan with best-before dates ranging from March 24 to April 4. Additionally, a number of cheese products have been recalled nationwide, including Bothwell shredded three-cheese nacho blend in 400-gram and one-kilogram sizes, Goldstream cheddar style shredded processed cheese, and Paradise Island brand Asiago shredded cheese due to listeria concerns.
Furthermore, the recall has been expanded for certain cheese ingredients found in Hello Fresh brand meal kits sold across Canada. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency website provides comprehensive lists of the affected products for reference. Listeria, a harmful bacteria, can contaminate food items without visible signs of spoilage. Consumption of contaminated food may lead to symptoms such as vomiting, nausea, and persistent fever. However, the CFIA has not reported any illnesses linked to the recalled products.
