Two local trains in Denmark collided head-on, resulting in injuries to a minimum of 17 individuals, with four of them in critical condition, as reported by the emergency services to Reuters. The collision occurred on a train route connecting Hillerod and Kagerup, north of Copenhagen. Images from public broadcaster DR depicted two trains, both displaying damage to their fronts, positioned facing each other within a wooded area. Following the incident, a spokesperson for the rescue services confirmed that it involved two local trains colliding directly. Emergency responders stated that passengers sustained injuries, but everyone has been safely evacuated from the trains. Extensive resources have been mobilized to the site of the collision.
