Israeli airstrikes resulted in the deaths of at least four Palestinians in Gaza on Thursday, while a 15-year-old was shot and killed by Israeli soldiers during an army operation in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, as reported by Palestinian health officials.
In southern Gaza’s Khan Younis, one person was killed in an airstrike that also left several others injured, according to local medics. Israel’s military stated that the target was militants transporting munitions, posing a threat to Israeli soldiers.
In a separate strike in al Maghazi, a Palestinian refugee camp in the Deir al Balah area in central Gaza, three individuals, including a rescue worker, were killed, as confirmed by health officials. Israel’s military did not immediately comment on this particular strike.
Since a U.S.-brokered ceasefire took effect in October, Israel has conducted multiple strikes in Gaza. Both Israel and Hamas have accused each other of violating the ceasefire, with no enforcement mechanism in place. The toll since the ceasefire began stands at four Israeli soldiers and over 780 Palestinians killed in Gaza.
At Al Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, where the territory’s largest medical facility is located, mourners gathered to bury five individuals, including three children, who lost their lives in an Israeli airstrike on a northern Gaza town on Wednesday. Mohammed Balousha, a relative of one of the victims, expressed the sentiment that there is no safety or ceasefire in place.
Meanwhile, in the West Bank city of Nablus, health officials reported that a teenager was shot and killed by Israeli forces during an ongoing raid. The Israeli military stated that the incident occurred when a Palestinian threw stones at their forces during an operation, leading to the use of force against the suspect.
Additionally, the health ministry disclosed that a 25-year-old Palestinian man was fatally shot by Israeli settlers in Deir Dibwan town near Ramallah recently, highlighting an escalation of violence against Palestinians by Israeli settlers and soldiers. Reports also indicated that two Palestinians, including a 14-year-old boy, were killed in al-Mughayyir following an incident involving Israeli settlers and soldiers, as confirmed by witnesses and the Palestinian Ministry of Health. The Palestinian health ministry stated that at least 15 people have fallen victim to Israeli settlers’ attacks this year.
