The Toronto Tempo have secured the 26th selection in the upcoming 2026 WNBA Draft after striking a deal with the Chicago Sky. In exchange, the Tempo have agreed not to choose from Chicago’s unprotected list during Friday’s expansion draft.
Aside from the 26th pick, Toronto also possesses the sixth, 22nd, and 36th picks in the WNBA Draft scheduled for April 13. Despite not having any players on their roster yet, the Tempo face a tight deadline to assemble their team for the upcoming 2026 season.
Before their official entry into the WNBA, the Tempo will engage in a pre-season match against the Connecticut Sun. Subsequently, they will kick off their inaugural WNBA campaign on May 8 against the Washington team at the Coca-Cola Coliseum in Toronto.
