Two individuals lost their lives following a collision between a pickup truck and another vehicle on Highway 11 in the vicinity of Lac Du Bonnet early Tuesday morning. Manitoba RCMP reported that officers were dispatched to the scene, located near the intersection of Highway 11 and Road 84 North, shortly after 7 a.m. on Tuesday. According to police, a pickup truck traveling on the highway was involved in a crash with a vehicle from the opposite direction that had lost control.
Both occupants of the second vehicle, a 71-year-old man and a 66-year-old man from Lac Du Bonnet, succumbed to their injuries, as confirmed by the authorities. The passenger in the pickup truck, a 69-year-old woman, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment, as stated in the official release. The driver of the truck, a 71-year-old man from Beausejour, emerged from the incident unharmed.
RCMP indicated that the collision may have been influenced by road conditions and heavy snowfall. A comprehensive investigation is ongoing, with police working alongside a forensic collision reconstruction expert to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
